After having reservations and arriving on time, we still had to wait to be seated for quite a long time. After being seated, we waited on service, then waiting on the salad/soup. Basically, a lot of time spent waiting on things. The location is ridiculously loud - so you have to yell. I had a Caesar salad which was very wet and drowning in sauce. Not a fan. The lasagna was absolutely fantastic. I may order that to go next time or try again off hours. The location is great and the atmosphere is quite friendly.

I grew up in Glen Ellyn and Vitorio's has consistently been my family's go-to restaurant for authentic, delicious Italian food. I cannot even explain in words how in love I am with Vitorio's veal marsala. The veal is the one and only exception that I ever make to my self-imposed no-veal rule. I have never had a better marsala sauce and with the perfectly seared veal, you absolutely can't go wrong. The wait staff is always welcoming and knowledgeable and the host always remembers my family. The ambiance of this restaurant is quaint and intimate, which I love. Although there have been quite a few Italian restaurants opening in the area, Vitorio's will always be my favorite.

I always forget about Vitorios..tucked away on a side street in downtown Glen Ellyn, you'll find this cute Italian cuisine.. Small, intimate seating in the dining room and the bar as well. Unique menu, but also features Italian staples. Large portions and decent price. Pretty good wine menu as well. Perfect place for a date night, a night out with the girls, or to catch a bite before seeing a movie at the Glen Ellyn theater. I recommend the caprese appetizer!

My family and I ate at Vitorios often when they were located in Bartlett and Joanne did most of the cooking. Since the move to Glen Ellyn, it seems that the next generation is doing the cooking and the quality has suffered. The last three meals I've had at Vitorios were salty and greasy. My son, my husband and I had a real craving for Italian food.. being a Monday our favorite place was closed so we opted to follow yelp to choose another. We arrived at the restaurant, it's small, quaint may be more the word to use. The bartender welcomed us and was very friendly, I could see a cook looking a bit disappointed that we came in, it was 730 pm so I asked the bartender what time they stop serving food, his comment was "we are normally here till midnight, we could stop serving at about 10" ok.. then I am not sure why the cook looked so upset. . We sat in a room (there was only 1 other table filled) the waiter was a bit awkward, he asked if we wanted drinks, when we replied just water I asked him if there were any specials. . He said there are no drink specials. .. I asked if there were any dinner specials, he said we have pork chops with olive oil and some other stuff that is really good, we don't have the salmon or the tilapia but we brought in some cod that we brush with butter. There was another kid there that brought bread and oil, the parm cheese was on the tables: after ordering some appetizers, I went to sprinkle some parm cheese on the plate and the cheese wouldn't come out so I took the cap off the shaker and there was mold growing in there, I took the one off the table next to ours and it was the same thing! I waited for someone to come past us so I could tell someone, the 1st one to come was the kid that brought the plates and he just went in the other room and brought me a fresh shaker of cheese. The appetizers: we ordered the grilled portobello mushrooms.. and a sausage with peppers, onions on toast apps. .. the mush plate did NOT look good as it was served on a black plate that added NOTHING to the presentation, but they were surprisingly delicious, the sausage on the other plate taste like it was cooked HOURS before and reheated and served. I will not continue with more details (you get the drift) the food was just not good, the service was prompt but not friendly AT ALL (so it makes you feel like they just wanted you to eat and get out). BTW my dinner came with a sausage in it and it to tasted like it was cooked earlier and reheated. I am Italian and I have 2 sons that went to culinary school and now work in high end restaurants. .. I wanted to be able to say something nice so. . The spicy creamy sausage soup was different and tasted ok, the mushroom app was great and bread was very fresh. The atmosphere was nice, the paper top on tables were to big and hung of the end so when I set my purse down, I realized there was no table at that point. Needless to say. .... we won't be back for another meal.

I love This place. It is small and charming. I think there are 10 tables. The menu has changed in the last year or so. There was no bruschetta on the menu but we asked and they made it for us. Super yummy. All their food is made from scratch. Everyone is so welcoming. They treat you like family!

I had a little birthday celebration for my dear friend and his wife at Vitorios. We were seated right away and had the pleasure of having Nancy serve us. It was my first time there so I let Nancy bring out some of there specialty appetizers. And it did not disappoint. The grilled and blackened calamari was wonderful along with the eggplant app. We had all ordered different entries and all enjoyed them. Nancy also brought out an order of pasta with vodka sauce so we all could have a taste. To top the night off, the owner Joe joined us for some conversation and laughs. He is by far a wonderful chef and host. We defiantly will be back to see Joe and Nancy soon. By the way. I liked the vodka sauce so much that for thanksgiving I ordered a gallon of it to make a pasta tray for my guests at my home.

We love this restaurant!! It's everything an Italian restaurant can & should be.... It's so personal & that is a big part of it's charm but the food is superb! The fried calamari appetizer is generous & crispy. We had the Chicken Francesa which had a wonderfully delicate lemon garlic sauce, served with the classic pasta & a generous marinara sauce. Service is paced so you never are rushed & so attentive. Wines by the glass are outstanding I've been in pricier restaurants that don't offer their great selection of Paso Robles/ Napa wines & I am a Californian! This is my 2nd visit but I'll be back ( my twin sister lives in town).

Cozy, friendly, charming atmosphere in this family-run business. Loved it. The local regular keep the bar bustling, then you go through a curtain to the main restaurant, which is decorated with little chandeliers, and candles. Service was outstanding and super-friendly. Our waitress gave us wine samples, brought a complementary birthday dessert, and offered me a side of sauteed spinach when I was sad that the tilapia (which had spinach) was out. Because it is a small place, be warned that they may run out of specials or fish if you get there later. Our chicken francese, fried calamari and Fruti di Mare were all perfect. Today we dined at Vitorio's for the third time. It was our 43rd wedding anniversary. We had been there before. The first time was absolutely great. Everything was great. Food, drink, service and cleanliness. Second experience was half as good. Just for the olive oil and bread we waited 15 minutes. The appetizers took just as long and they were out of two different kinds of red wine. Now mind you, we had reservations for 5pm that day. ( They open at 4:30pm) How can they be out of two different wines especially on a Saturday??? Also, they were out of one of the pasta entrees. What?? There were two other parties which came in after us (3) and they were served before us. They already got their entrees while we were still waiting for the salads. And we did not order anything that would take extra long to be prepared. We didn't even pay too much attentiuon to the cleanliness because of all the wondering and waiting. Today we came back for a third time and the service was much quicker and timely. The metal lamp base for the candle was filthy. I wiped my flatware off on the napkin - just in case-. I had the Caprese Salad and half of the tomato slices tingled and fizzed in my mouth. Again they were out of one of the entrees on the menu. Saturday at 5pm??? My husband had the clams with linguini and I had the five finger cavatelli and we both had the house salad. Food tasted good but it was very, very salty. We didn't find out that little fact until we arrived at home. You know that feeling " like fish on land"? Also, I spent a good amount of time in the bathroom. Must have been those tomatoes. We are very disappointed. Don't think we'll be back again.

We revisited Vitorio's for a mid-week dinner. We were greeted by the same gregarious host as the last time we were here several years ago. All in all, Vitorios was only marginally better than last time but not enough for a third star. The salad was better than last time. Note that the blue cheese crumbles on top are an extra $2. The soup was described as "a lentil" soup. It was actually pasta fagioli with lentils instead of beans. They advertize ravioli with a filling of the day/week. I asked our server what the filling was today. She said, "Meat." I said what kind of meat? She had to go to the kitchen to find out. They were out of the first wine I ordered. For entrees we had Parpadelle with Bolognese sauce ($22) and the veal filled ravoli with neck bone sauce. Both were just OK. We were seated at the back of the small dining room. The dining room was about half full. The busser spent 90% of his time leaning on the counter and looking around the room. The unisex restroom was clean. A note for the host (Joey maybe): DON'T TOUCH THE CUSTOMERS! Especially since you stick your fingers into glasses when you clear a table. I don't want you touching me when you have someone elses saliva on your hands.

We recently visited this restaurant on a Friday evening for the first time. It's very cute, small, it's a real sense of a family-run restaurant. The staff is very friendly and affectionate - if you are in reach, you will get pat on the shoulders or the back. But we didn't mind. The food was wonderful - the best pasta fagioli soup I have ever tasted. They were completely packed but I thought service was good. The only thing that keeps me from giving it more stars (and will probably keep me from returning) was how loud it was in the dining room. It would be so perfect it this were a nice quiet little date spot. But it was very loud - there were only 3 of us and the 2 sitting opposite each other either had to yell or just not speak to each other. I think perhaps the music was on quite loud, prompting the patrons to speak loudly to be heard over it and in such a small space it just wasn't pleasant.

For those searching for a quintessential family-run restaurant, look no further. Vitorio's is a nice, quaint Sicilian restaurant with all of the fan-favorite Italian foods. It's located about a block away from the railroad, between a street corner and a small strip mall. To start off the night, I had an Australian cabernet which was pretty good. Because, clearly, Australian wine is the way to go in an Italian restaurant. I'm such a vagrant. I ordered their Pollo alla Francaise which was also pretty good. Unlike some of the other Italian restaurants I had been to recently, this actually tasted lemony -- imagine that! The chicken's consistency was a bit on the soft side but in a good way. For dessert, we had a Blueberry Tarte which was just okay and a bit stale. Their tiramisu was pretty good though, I would stick with that over some of the other choices. Vitorio's competitive advantage is their service. The wait staff, the owner, everyone was excellent. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing and very affable. From observing the other wait staff around the restaurant, the other patrons were getting much of the same. Their food is just above average but their service is top-knotch. I definitely recommend this small, family-run gem.

Absolutely wonderful! We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and loved the place. It's cozy and quaint, modern, and perfect for a celebration. The owner was walking around and made sure we felt welcome. We loved the food. Everything on the menu looked good and it was hard to decide. For sure we'll have to go back to try other dishes. We ended up choosing the special of the day- whitefish with sauteed vegetables and Vesuvius potatoes, lasagna, and red clam sauce over pasta. The entrees came with a good house salad in homemade Italian dressing, with blue cheese- $2 extra. We'll be back- it would be a good place for an anniversary dinner or holiday meal.

While I've only been here once, my family goes here often and always reminds me how wonderful it is. I come from a family of picky eaters (think Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally -- annoying), and they're always happy to accomodate my sister's request for grilled calamari with no oil, my mother's requests for whatever she's in the mood for, etc. I don't recall what I had -- but it had a TON of garlic and was phenomenal. I'm used to good Italian food and rarely am I impressed by a restaurant's red sauce. This place is family owned and very quaint. You feel like you're in someone's living room having dinner as a big family. My non-fussy sister, my dad, and I all shared our meals, and everything on the table was fantastic. Large portions, reasonably priced, great wait staff. While you'd think a hidden gem like this would be quiet, it does get crowded on weekends. Can't wait to go back. If you're on a date -- make sure both you and your dining companion get the garlic. Then you balance each other out and you can really enjoy the flavor.

I've eaten here on several occasions and have a favorite item I get pretty much every time. I usually get the penne with an arrabiata sauce with a side of sausage. It's so good and very filling. I tried their penne bolognese last time and loved that too. I like that it is a small bistro style so that you get to become familiar with the owners and that staff that run the restaurant. I'm not exactly sure when Joey works anymore, but I find that the food is better when he's working. They are very friendly and great hosts.

great little italian family owned jewel. they take a lot of pride in the food and the very welcoming service, and it shows. you eat there, and it feels like you're at a friends dinner table. plus, any place with a back lit picture of sinatra behind the bar is ok by me. i hesitated to do a review, because i would prefer the place stay a local secret.

I love This place. It is small and charming. I think there are 10 tables. The menu has changed in the last year or so. There was no bruschetta on the menu but we asked and they made it for us. Super yummy. All their food is made from scratch. Everyone is so welcoming. They treat you like family!

I had a little birthday celebration for my dear friend and his wife at Vitorios. We were seated right away and had the pleasure of having Nancy serve us. It was my first time there so I let Nancy bring out some of there specialty appetizers. And it did not disappoint. The grilled and blackened calamari was wonderful along with the eggplant app. We had all ordered different entries and all enjoyed them. Nancy also brought out an order of pasta with vodka sauce so we all could have a taste. To top the night off, the owner Joe joined us for some conversation and laughs. He is by far a wonderful chef and host. We defiantly will be back to see Joe and Nancy soon. By the way. I liked the vodka sauce so much that for thanksgiving I ordered a gallon of it to make a pasta tray for my guests at my home.

Visited Vittorio's last weekend for the first time. This is the little Italian place that has been missing from our area for a long time. Food, service, atmosphere - all absolutely first rate. I will be back many times. No complaints at all. Intimate setting (about 12 tables plus the bar), expert service and food prepared by a mother and son team that really knows what they're doing.

We love this restaurant!! It's everything an Italian restaurant can & should be.... It's so personal & that is a big part of it's charm but the food is superb! The fried calamari appetizer is generous & crispy. We had the Chicken Francesa which had a wonderfully delicate lemon garlic sauce, served with the classic pasta & a generous marinara sauce. Service is paced so you never are rushed & so attentive. Wines by the glass are outstanding I've been in pricier restaurants that don't offer their great selection of Paso Robles/ Napa wines & I am a Californian! This is my 2nd visit but I'll be back ( my twin sister lives in town).

Cozy, friendly, charming atmosphere in this family-run business. Loved it. The local regular keep the bar bustling, then you go through a curtain to the main restaurant, which is decorated with little chandeliers, and candles. Service was outstanding and super-friendly. Our waitress gave us wine samples, brought a complementary birthday dessert, and offered me a side of sauteed spinach when I was sad that the tilapia (which had spinach) was out. Because it is a small place, be warned that they may run out of specials or fish if you get there later. Our chicken francese, fried calamari and Fruti di Mare were all perfect. Support a small business and have a fantastic meal!

Pros: - we went for dinner at 6pm and there wasn't a long wait. Less than 15min, and it have us time to chat with the bartender - decent wine selection, full bar - shorter menu, means they've perfected what they offer - the trio calamari appetizer is great. Big enough as a meal! - the owner is very friendly, personable, attentive, and welcoming older gentleman - the bartender is great, helped us with picking out drinks. They were out of Sam Adams when we were there and he had to explain the other options to a number of people, but he never skipped a beat or sounded upset. Great disposition! - apparently the veal is very good - my fiancé had the giambotta (recommended by the bartender) and said it was great - prices are reasonable ($15-25 for an entree) Cons: - they don't take reservations for parties with less than 5 people - only bottled beers and the selection isn't the best (if you appreciate a good craft brew) - small, intimate dining room can get kind of loud (only big enough to fit two tables wide by approx. five tables long) - it took a while to get our entrées, but I think it's because I ordered the seafood special (wild Alaska salmon, which looked & tasted a lot like Atlantic salmon...) and I think everyone else in the restaurant ordered some form of pasta - considering that I ordered the daily special, I was surprised that it was brought out undercooked. I was so stuffed from nibbling on the appetizer that I didn't complain it send it back. I see it as it'll be perfect once I reheat it in the oven.

Tonight we Joined the Chef Joey at this Wonderful Little Spot in Glen Ellyn! As always we feel as though we are Part of the family welcomed into their personal dinning room! Today we dined at Vitorio's for the third time. It was our 43rd wedding anniversary. We had been there before. The first time was absolutely great. Everything was great. Food, drink, service and cleanliness. Second experience was half as good. Just for the olive oil and bread we waited 15 minutes. The appetizers took just as long and they were out of two different kinds of red wine. Now mind you, we had reservations for 5pm that day. ( They open at 4:30pm) How can they be out of two different wines especially on a Saturday??? Also, they were out of one of the pasta entrees. What?? There were two other parties which came in after us (3) and they were served before us. They already got their entrees while we were still waiting for the salads. And we did not order anything that would take extra long to be prepared. We didn't even pay too much attentiuon to the cleanliness because of all the wondering and waiting. Today we came back for a third time and the service was much quicker and timely. The metal lamp base for the candle was filthy. I wiped my flatware off on the napkin - just in case-. I had the Caprese Salad and half of the tomato slices tingled and fizzed in my mouth. Again they were out of one of the entrees on the menu. Saturday at 5pm??? My husband had the clams with linguini and I had the five finger cavatelli and we both had the house salad. Food tasted good but it was very, very salty. We didn't find out that little fact until we arrived at home. You know that feeling " like fish on land"? Also, I spent a good amount of time in the bathroom. Must have been those tomatoes. We are very disappointed. Don't think we'll be back again.

We have been going to Vitorios for about 3 years and were happy with the quality, service and portions. Our last 2 visits have been very disappointing due to the seating, constant pressure to order and food being served barely warm. These last two experiences were enough for us to never return to what once was a good restaurant.

We revisited Vitorio's for a mid-week dinner. We were greeted by the same gregarious host as the last time we were here several years ago. All in all, Vitorios was only marginally better than last time but not enough for a third star. The salad was better than last time. Note that the blue cheese crumbles on top are an extra $2. The soup was described as "a lentil" soup. It was actually pasta fagioli with lentils instead of beans. They advertize ravioli with a filling of the day/week. I asked our server what the filling was today. She said, "Meat." I said what kind of meat? She had to go to the kitchen to find out. They were out of the first wine I ordered. For entrees we had Parpadelle with Bolognese sauce ($22) and the veal filled ravoli with neck bone sauce. Both were just OK. We were seated at the back of the small dining room. The dining room was about half full. The busser spent 90% of his time leaning on the counter and looking around the room. The unisex restroom was clean. A note for the host (Joey maybe): DON'T TOUCH THE CUSTOMERS! Especially since you stick your fingers into glasses when you clear a table. I don't want you touching me when you have someone elses saliva on your hands.

We recently visited this restaurant on a Friday evening for the first time. It's very cute, small, it's a real sense of a family-run restaurant. The staff is very friendly and affectionate - if you are in reach, you will get pat on the shoulders or the back. But we didn't mind. The food was wonderful - the best pasta fagioli soup I have ever tasted. They were completely packed but I thought service was good. The only thing that keeps me from giving it more stars (and will probably keep me from returning) was how loud it was in the dining room. It would be so perfect it this were a nice quiet little date spot. But it was very loud - there were only 3 of us and the 2 sitting opposite each other either had to yell or just not speak to each other. I think perhaps the music was on quite loud, prompting the patrons to speak loudly to be heard over it and in such a small space it just wasn't pleasant.

For those searching for a quintessential family-run restaurant, look no further. Vitorio's is a nice, quaint Sicilian restaurant with all of the fan-favorite Italian foods. It's located about a block away from the railroad, between a street corner and a small strip mall. To start off the night, I had an Australian cabernet which was pretty good. Because, clearly, Australian wine is the way to go in an Italian restaurant. I'm such a vagrant. I ordered their Pollo alla Francaise which was also pretty good. Unlike some of the other Italian restaurants I had been to recently, this actually tasted lemony -- imagine that! The chicken's consistency was a bit on the soft side but in a good way. For dessert, we had a Blueberry Tarte which was just okay and a bit stale. Their tiramisu was pretty good though, I would stick with that over some of the other choices. Vitorio's competitive advantage is their service. The wait staff, the owner, everyone was excellent. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing and very affable. From observing the other wait staff around the restaurant, the other patrons were getting much of the same. Their food is just above average but their service is top-knotch. I definitely recommend this small, family-run gem.

One word: wow. This place honestly just fell into my hands, and I can't get the food out of my mind. I had pumpkin-stuffed gnocchi in a brown butter sage sauce... it was simply on another level. Truly admirable wait staff, you walk in and feel like you're family. Highly reccomended to everybody that's anybody.

Absolutely wonderful! We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and loved the place. It's cozy and quaint, modern, and perfect for a celebration. The owner was walking around and made sure we felt welcome. We loved the food. Everything on the menu looked good and it was hard to decide. For sure we'll have to go back to try other dishes. We ended up choosing the special of the day- whitefish with sauteed vegetables and Vesuvius potatoes, lasagna, and red clam sauce over pasta. The entrees came with a good house salad in homemade Italian dressing, with blue cheese- $2 extra. We'll be back- it would be a good place for an anniversary dinner or holiday meal.

While I've only been here once, my family goes here often and always reminds me how wonderful it is. I come from a family of picky eaters (think Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally -- annoying), and they're always happy to accomodate my sister's request for grilled calamari with no oil, my mother's requests for whatever she's in the mood for, etc. I don't recall what I had -- but it had a TON of garlic and was phenomenal. I'm used to good Italian food and rarely am I impressed by a restaurant's red sauce. This place is family owned and very quaint. You feel like you're in someone's living room having dinner as a big family. My non-fussy sister, my dad, and I all shared our meals, and everything on the table was fantastic. Large portions, reasonably priced, great wait staff. While you'd think a hidden gem like this would be quiet, it does get crowded on weekends. Can't wait to go back. If you're on a date -- make sure both you and your dining companion get the garlic. Then you balance each other out and you can really enjoy the flavor.

I've eaten here on several occasions and have a favorite item I get pretty much every time. I usually get the penne with an arrabiata sauce with a side of sausage. It's so good and very filling. I tried their penne bolognese last time and loved that too. I like that it is a small bistro style so that you get to become familiar with the owners and that staff that run the restaurant. I'm not exactly sure when Joey works anymore, but I find that the food is better when he's working. They are very friendly and great hosts.
